A Quest To Champion Table Tennis Development

Brisbane Table Tennis Welcomes New Development Officer

Rebekah Stanley has played Table Tennis since she was a tiny tot. She started playing at home in the garage in 2008 when she was 8 years old.

She loved it so much, she joined her local club in Mackay, as a junior player in 2010.

She developed her skills and represented the club. She eventually went on to succeed at the State and National level. Ultimately, Bek was crowned an Oceania and Australian National Junior Champion.

Put simply, Bek loves Table Tennis!

In recent years, her passion for the sport inspired her to continue to be a coach. Bek now has more than three years of coaching experience. She's a qualified Level 1 coach.

She specialises in service technique and shot technique. She also focuses on players' footwork, mental focus and match tactics.

She's a great coach, no matter your level. A focus on rapid improvement is Bek's forte. She believes in practical sessions focusing on core skills needed to reach the player's goals.

"I am committed to creating programs that can help young people to play table tennis, especially encouraging girls into the sport," said Rebekah.

"A good coach can help a player develop their skills and confidence, as well as foster a love for the game," she said.

Rebekah recently joined the Brisbane Table Tennis team as the development officer of the club. Her focus is implementing and facilitating new programs for player development targeted at specific groups - such as Girls' Squad, Para Program, Spineroos (grassroots participation), Schools program, School Holiday program, and our monthly Development (Supercharge) camps for Juniors.
