Centre Redevelopment Continues - New Flooring

New Flooring On Its Way to BTTA

The highly anticipated upgrade of the Brisbane Table Tennis Centre's flooring is about to commence thanks to a Brisbane City Council grant and the Commonwealth Games Legacy and the dedication of a group of volunteers.

The works are the culmination of two years of effort towards this project.

Club member, John Swinbourne has been leading the project to upgrade the floor. See attached for his summary of the project to date.

The installation will roll-over over several weeks. We ask for club members and guests to be patient while the work is being done as there may be some disruption to regular access to the courts.

The club, however, will not be closed using the installation as the work will be staggered.

The new floor will be Gerflor Rec 60 - a specialist rubber indoor sports flooring that was used at the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.

Club Patron, Cr Andrew Wines was integral in ensuring our club was successful in its grant application from the Brisbane City Council which is helping with the cost of installation.

These new works build on momentum generated from previous upgrades.

The centre has also recently upgraded its lighting and players' lounge area.

The goal is to elevate the centre to a world-class table tennis venue.
