Imagine playing on the very same Table Tennis Table that Commonwealth Games champions have played on.
Or sitting in the same umpire chair where International Umpires refereed gold medal matches.
With the Embracing 2018 Legacy Program now you can.
The sporting equipment legacy from the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games has been made possible under the Queensland Government's Sports Assets Legacy Program and has been facilitated by Table Tennis Queensland.
The sporting assets received by Table Tennis Queensland are among more than 20,000 items gifted to schools, sporting organizations, and community groups across the State.
"We're a sports mad state and building on the excitement of the Games, this initiative can support communities and individuals to be more active, happier and healthier,” Ms Jones said.
"I hope our future table tennis champions will be inspired by the fact their equipment was used by Commonwealth Games athletes," she said.
While the Commonwealth Games Legacy has donated the rubber floor the Brisbane Table Tennis Club has received a grant and raised its own funds to pay for the special under-floor and installation.
This is a massive job.
The main court area is more than 1,350m2
Seen right Club President, Peter Lander, loads the under-floor in preparation for installation.
Thank you for the help BTTA received from members of our club and members of other clubs who help unload.
