New Program Starts February
If you have ever thought about playing table tennis then look no further than the Brisbane Table Tennis Club in Windsor.
Nicole Lander, one of around 225 members, said the club is starting a special program for women who are over 55 years old would like to like to get out and get active. The 10-week program will run each Monday from noon to 2pm will teach the basics of the game from February 5th.
"It is an great introduction to the fun sport so we start from the very beginning," said Nicole.
"Women of all skill levels are welcome," she said."Last year we run the same course and we have women who had never played before to women who had played when they were a youngster and wanted to get back into the game," she said. The course will be facilitated by Cathy Townsend, a renowned coach. "Cathy is great with players of all skill levels, she is very friendly and patient," said Nicole.
There is tremendous satisfaction so see newcomers enjoy the sport and improve their skills.
The Queensland Government, through the Embracing 2018 Legacy Program for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games, provided funding to Brisbane Table Tennis for our new Women's Only Get Out & Get Active program to get women and girls active for life.The table tennis program for women will begin on February 5th 12noon - 2pm and run for 10 weeks.
